The nation's 12th largest city might be big, but it exudes a small-town hospitality that will make you feel right at home. Friendly people, affordable living, and a robust economy combine to make Indianapolis a great place to call home whether it's for two years or a lifetime. A booming downtown, surrounding scenic parks, an eclectic cultural scene, and diverse neighborhoods abound.
Living in Indianapolis is affordable and enjoyable. In fact, in 2007 and 2009, Forbes Magazine ranked Indy in the top three among this country's 50 largest metro areas in the Most Affordable Cities to Live Well. Many postdocs choose to live downtown to be close to the IU Medical Center campus. Several apartment complexes are within walking distance from the campus, and numerous other downtown neighborhoods are only minutes away. For those who don't wish to live downtown, interstate access often is a short and convenient drive.
The IU Department of Medicine did such an outstanding job describing Indianapolis, we thought we would share their About Indy page. Look below to view additional information on Indianapolis.
